Pierrot Colonna was born in France in the mid-70s.

Turning his back on the traditional school system, he got his first job in 1989 as a messenger for one of Paris's major newspapers. He was to go and pick up rolls of films from photographers covering the news all over Paris and bring them back to the paper for processing before the deadline. Many photographers became close friends and taught him the basics of photography.

A few years later, Pierrot met someone who would forever change his life, a war reporter for the Capa news agency in Paris... A friendship and a passion were born.....

In 1996, with Europe's economy receding, Pierrot moved to New York to realize his dream : becoming a cinematographer... After years as focus puller in independent feature films, Pierrot met with French Director Yohan Ungar in 2005... Together they shot over 30 music videos, all over the world. "It was an amazing experience. Music videos are the perfect medium to express your creativity; you can really experiment, find a style, create your own world," Pierrot says.

Over the years, Pierrot Colonna has worked with a wide range of directors and producers on a large number of films, commercials and music videos. With his American training and European sensitivity, Pierrot is without a doubt an upcoming D.P. with a unique style and passion.
